Heart disease is an awful condition; in many western countries heart disease is one of the main causes of death every year, yet many people do not understand the warning signs the human body tell us.

Heart disease is made up with a variety of different heart conditions, each having symptoms that can show what type of disease it may be.

The problem with heart disease symptoms is that they are not only symptoms for heart conditions, but less harmful conditions too.

If you gain knowledge and understanding as to what causes heart disease you have a very good chance of noticing the symptoms early and having a better chance of making it through the condition.

If you ever feel any of the symptoms described below then it is imperative that you visit a Doctor to make sure they are not threatening to your health.

    Symptoms

For many people a common symptom is losing their breath during light exercise like walking, or even while they rest. The issue with this symptom is that the majority of people who suffer with heart disease are older in age so they put this breathlessness down to getting older.

Following along the same lines as breathlessness, fatigue is another common symptom associated with heart disease, in some cases this can be so severe that it is debilitating.

Angina is usually the symptom that drives people to seek medical advice; this comes in the form of pains in the chest and a feeling of tightness in the chest. In some cases of angina people may feel pain in the jaw, face or arms.

Heart palpitations are another symptom people may describe. Palpitations are the feeling of a very fast heartbeat or the feeling of an extremely strong beat.

If your heart is beating irregularly then you have very likely fallen victim to heart disease and should ring for an ambulance immediately.

If your lips and your bodies extremities like your fingers and toes have a bluish complexion then you will require medical help as this is a sign of not enough oxygen being pumped round the body by the heart.

Fainting is another symptom, although it is a symptom of many other conditions and is not thought of as being so serious. A person faints when there is not enough oxygen being pumped to the brain.

If a persons ankles and legs become swollen because of excessive amounts of fluid being retained in the region then it can be the sign of heart failure.

A final symptom, which is a huge give away that someone is suffering with heart disease is chest pain that is so severe it causes nausea, excessive sweating, light-headedness and difficulty breathing. If these symptoms appear then an ambulance must be called instantly as it can mean the difference between life and death.

    Summary

Look after yourself and your body will look after you, it is important that we take care of our heart, as it is what gives us life.
