There are many computer ergonomics that can help ease the pain from a repetitive stress injury. The first thing is for you to purchase a new ergonomic keyboard. You can get ergonomic keyboards that are split in the middle for a more comfortable hand position or you can get a keyboard with a raised bottom base so that you have a place to rest your wrists comfortably while you type. There is also a new vertical split keyboard that you can purchase on the internet that keeps your hands and arms in the neutral handshake position; however, this model can cost you around $360. There are many ergonomic padded wrist support contoured mouse pads and keyboard pads available at reasonable prices that can help aid in comfort while you work at your computer.

You will also want to make sure that you have a sturdy, comfortable chair. You should purchase one that will help promote good posture. You may have to sit in many different models of chairs to find the right one for you and your office. You could also purchase voice recognition software so that you never have to type again. This will save you a lot of pain when it comes to typing. There are many programs available, so you will need to research them to find the one that best suits your needs. You may want to look into purchasing some alternative pointing devices so that you won't have to use your mouse so much. If you prefer to have a mouse, then you may want to try vertical mouse. They are more comfortable for your hand when you use them.

You can get an adjustable desk so that you can make sure that your work surface is at the perfect level of comfort for you. You can get these in a wide variety of materials, such as wood or chrome. These adjustable desks also come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. You could find one to fit any room, from large space to small space. If you must stare at a computer all day long, then it would be wise for you to buy a glare screen for your monitor. This will make it easier on your eyes and will reduce eye strain. A footrest or an anti-fatigue mat will help reduce back and leg strain from continuous sitting or standing. You can even buy a footrest with roller balls in it to gently massage the bottoms of your feet. No matter what type of ergonomic products your purchase to use in your office at work and at home, the most important thing to remember is to get up and stretch your whole body. Stretch your hands, arm, neck, back, and shoulders most especially to help ease the tension in them. This will help more than anything when it comes to RSI. It will help you to stand up about every thirty to forty-five minutes or so and do some simple stretches. This will also help reduce fatigue from sitting there and working all day.
