Your diet may be the cause of getting heart disease; it's strange but very possibly true. There are many different factors within a person's diet that could bring the onset of heart disease, as you are about to find out.

    Eating fats

Eating trans fats and saturated fats increases the amount of bad cholesterol in the body. In fact there is a misconception that cholesterol is bad, cholesterol is actually good but it is the process cholesterol goes through to make it cause heart disease that makes it bad for you.

Okay so we know eat trans and saturated fast cause an increase in cholesterol that is bad for you, but what is this "bad cholesterol" and what does it do?

"Bad cholesterol" is caused by low-density lipoprotein (LPL), which is a very small (around 18 to 25 nano meter) class of lipoprotein particles that carries cholesterol around the body by the blood stream.

The low-density lipoproteins cause problems because they transport the cholesterol to the arteries. Over time cholesterol can make a bottle neck in the artery as the cholesterol causes atheroma, which is a group of inflammatory cells that build up in the artery, over time these atheroma can cause the arteries to narrow making it more difficult for blood to pass through, in some cases causing heart disease

    Salt

Eating too much salt in your diet can cause high blood pressure. High blood pressure also known as hypertension or arterial hypertension is a big cause of many conditions that make up heart disease

    Alcohol

Alcohol has been shown to a contributing factor, if not a cause of heart disease. There is interesting information that shows drinking alcohol at a moderate level will make you less likely to have a heart attack than those who don't drink at all, but those who drink alcohol heavily increase their chances of heart disease significantly.

    Summary

Did you know that heart disease kills over one hundred and ten thousand people in England a year alone?

As you can see diet does have a huge impact on the health of the human heart, it is a funny thing to say but all the food types mentioned above that in excess could cause heart disease, are actually very good for you in moderation.

Because heart disease is one of the largest killers in many countries across the globe, there is a lot of emphasis on diet nowadays, with many governments in the world trying to increase people's awareness. You may see many pamphlets or television adverts telling you about the affects of salt and alcohol, in some countries you may even see information on products themselves.

It is about time awareness is increased about the affects of poor diet as many people eat TV dinners and unhealthy food, as it is easy to make which suits in the busy life we all lead.

Maybe the information above may have made you think twice about the food that you eat, if it has then it has served its purpose.
